We created “Undiagnosed But Something Ain’t Right” in the summer of 2025. From the start, it felt like the kind of FRASED piece we love to wear ourselves: easy to style, easy to recognise yourself in, and just bold enough to make someone look twice.
We had already seen what happened when a shirt paired self-deprecating humour with a thought people actually related to. Out in public, those designs drew smiles, comments and conversations. We had a feeling this one would do the same. Once people started wearing it, we saw that instinct play out.
Why this line felt right
“Undiagnosed” sounds like the beginning of a serious announcement. Then “but something ain’t right” turns it into a joke you can take however you want. The line leaves just enough unsaid for the person wearing it, and the person reading it, to bring their own sense of humour.
It is also a statement you can wear on an ordinary day. You do not need to explain the joke. Put on the tee with a pair of trousers you love, or wear the hoodie while travelling, and let the line start a conversation if someone wants one.
A simple layout with a lot behind it

The finished graphic looks simple. Getting it to feel that way took care. We developed the FRASED design using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Lightroom, considering the font, the weight of the letters, the spacing between individual characters, and the space between the lines.
When we design for FRASED, we talk a lot about the balance of a quote. Here, the small FRASED mark introduces the piece. UNDIAGNOSED catches your eye from a distance. BUT SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT delivers the punchline when you get closer. Each part has its own role, but they have to read as one thought.
For the white tee, we chose the deep red that has become a familiar FRASED colour. It stands out beautifully against the white fabric without needing anything around it. The black and navy versions use white lettering and keep that same visual balance.
From our design files to someone’s wardrobe
Our exports for this design are dated 13 July 2025, the same day the FRASED product was created in Shopify. An order containing the tee was placed on 18 July 2025. Together, those records give our artwork and product a traceable early timeline. They document the FRASED design and its sale; we are not claiming to have invented every use of the words themselves.

We have kept the original design files and commerce records in our archive. They are part of the story of how this particular FRASED graphic went from our workspace to a piece someone chose to wear.
Then people made it their own
By the beginning of September, customers were posting the shirt on Instagram and tagging FRASED without being asked. We were a much smaller brand at the time. Seeing someone choose the design, make an outfit around it and share it with their own audience meant a lot to us.

Since then, Undiagnosed has become one of our most popular designs, and the hoodie has been especially well received. We still love seeing it worn in places that have nothing to do with a campaign or photoshoot: in everyday outfits, on the move, and by people who get the joke and make it their own.

When the 'fake copies' started appearing
As more and more people loved the design, we began seeing merchants like Amazon & SHEIN copying our famous “Undiagnosed But Something Ain’t Right” design. Also small shops in the space such as NOFLTRS.com or bysomeonesdiary.com offer copies of the FRASED design — mind you, those are not FRASED products.
The FRASED piece has its own design history: the typography, spacing, colour and composition shown in our dated artwork and early order records above. Seeing the same words on another shirt does not, by itself, tell you who designed its graphic. If you want the original version we created, get it directly from our store.
Still one of our favourites
A graphic tee or hoodie can make a simple outfit feel more personal. This one has the self-irony we love, but it is easy to wear. You can style it your own way and let the words do the talking.
We made it because the idea felt familiar to us. Watching other people recognise that feeling has been the best part.
Undiagnosed. But something ain’t right. We still think the line says exactly what it needs to.
